Mailing a Letter
Inmates can send and receive only postcards (with the exception of legal mail). Postcards are available for purchase on the inmate store.

Sending Books to a Floyd County Inmate
If you’d like to send a book to someone in the Floyd County Jail, please follow these rules:
How to Send

Books must be ordered online from a trusted site such as Amazon.com or Walmart.com.

The book must be shipped directly to the inmate.

Address the package like this:

Book Limits
-
Each inmate may have up to 2 books per month.
-
They may only keep 2 books at a time.
-
Inmates may also have 1 religious book, which does not count toward their monthly limit.

When an inmate finishes a book and turns it in, it will be placed into their property.
Book Requirements

Paperback only (no hardcovers).
-
Standard book dimensions (no larger than 8.5" x 11").
-
No sexually explicit content (no pornography).
-
No content that could threaten jail safety (for example: violence, escape tactics, etc.)
Important Note
-
It may take several weeks for a book to arrive at our facility.

After arrival, it may take several more days before the book is delivered to the intended inmate.
