Annual Cop for Kids Softball Tournament Raises Over $14,000 for Local Special Olympics
Â
The annual Cop for Kids softball tournament, organized to support the local Special Olympics, successfully raised over $14,000 this year. The event, hosted by the Southern Softball Association (SSA), saw an impressive turnout with 35 teams participating in a bracket-styled competition featuring 8U, 10U, and 12U girls fast pitch softball teams.
Â
This year marked a significant change in the tournament format, introducing head-to-head competitions among young athletes, which added a fresh and exciting dynamic to the event. The tournament drew enthusiastic crowds, with contributions from sponsors, gate fees, merchandise sales, and team fees all contributing to the fundraising efforts.
Â
The Cop for Kids softball tournament continues to be a staple event in the community, fostering sportsmanship, community spirit, and charitable giving. The funds raised will be dedicated to supporting the Special Olympics, ensuring that athletes have the resources they need for the upcoming year.
Â
We would especially like to thank all of the volunteers, public safety personnel, sponsors, & SSA for all coming together to make this event a success!
